Who Guides Us
Justin GayliardFounder & Chief Executive Officer
Justin Gayliard founded Sentinel Ag Strategy after twenty-five years of experience in agriculture.
His career began as a summer intern with Dow AgroSciences, where he learned principles that continue to guide him today: exceptional organizations are built by respecting people, welcoming different perspectives, serving customers with excellence, and earning trust through consistent action.
Over the years that followed, Justin’s career moved across Urban Pest Management, Turf & Ornamental, Specialty Crops, and Row Crops — through sales, marketing, manufacturing, product development, digital agriculture, and business development, and progressively into corporate strategy and executive leadership.
He held senior leadership roles with Dow AgroSciences and BASF, and most recently served as Chief Executive Officer of a North American crop protection business spanning biological and conventional crop protection.
He lived and worked across the United States, Japan, and Canada. His global leadership responsibilities took him further still — throughout Asia, Europe, North America, and South America, working alongside farmers, customers, researchers, and industry leaders across each.
That breadth of experience—across agricultural segments, functions, and geographies—shaped the conviction that ultimately led to Sentinel Ag Strategy: that while markets and organizations differ, the qualities that define strong leadership are remarkably consistent, and that a broader view can reveal opportunities that may otherwise remain unseen.
What Guides Us
Sentinel’s work is guided by four enduring values:
- Integrity
- Honest counsel, protected confidentiality, and independent judgement, always.
- Respect for People
- We listen before we advise, and we challenge ideas without ever diminishing the people behind them.
- Curiosity
- We continually ask better questions and remain open to new evidence, rather than relying on what has worked before.
- Courage
- We raise the difficult questions and offer honest advice, even when it challenges conventional thinking.
Every engagement begins with a conversation about the decision, opportunity or period of change in front of you.
